Robin Green with Spirulina - Ingredient Performance Overview

Robin Red has long been established as a leading carp bait ingredient, valued for its consistent performance across a wide range of bait applications.

Building on this approach, Robin Green with
Spirulina has been developed as a natural colour food that combines visual impact, nutritional value, and functional performance within modern bait formulations.

Spirulina as a Functional Ingredient

Spirulina is a natural algae-based ingredient with a strong nutritional profile. It provides:

  • Vitamins and minerals
  • A high level of vegetable protein (typically 60%+)
  • Essential amino acids
  • Natural antioxidant compounds such as beta carotene

These properties support digestibility, metabolic function, and sustained feeding response, making spirulina a practical inclusion within both short- and long-term bait strategies.

In bait manufacture, Robin Green with Spirulina can be used to:

  • Deliver a natural green colour for improved presentation in silty or weedy conditions
  • Contribute to the nutritional profile of the bait
  • Provide a distinct flavour profile that works well in both fishmeal and birdfood-based
    mixes

It performs effectively in a range of applications, including:

  • Boilies
  • Groundbaits
  • Pastes
  • Particle blends

Bait Structure and Release

These adjustments can improve attraction release without increasing inclusion levels.

  • Trial work highlights the importance of bait structure alongside ingredient selection. More open bait structures allow:

    • Faster water penetration
    • Quicker release of soluble attraction
    • Improved interaction between bait and surrounding water
  • This can be achieved by:

    • Using non-round or irregular bait shapes
    • Producing softer or more open-textured baits
    • Including coarser ingredients within the mix

Practical Formulation Notes

  • Suitable for both fishmeal and birdfood-based formulations
  • Coarse ingredients such as Red Factor can be used in original or ground form to control breakdown and handling
  • Grinding birdfood ingredients can improve rolling consistency where required
  • Liquid ingredients should be used at controlled levels to maintain balance
